This is my 2nd home in the midwest…Aunt Sandy’s house on Crystal lake…i’ve spent almost every Thanksgiving for the past 10 years here and so many long weekends…this is a place where even I get tired by 10pm.  It has that smell…one that conjures up fabulous memories upon entering the space…the lake is small but quiet…the train rolls by often and reminds me of being a little kid who would count the cars far beyond 100…i’ve swam in this lake, paddle boated, fished, and been a kid here…

when life gets stressful or hard…this is the place i want to drive away to…good old DeWitt, IA
